Important Parent Drop Off and Pick Up Information: Help us keep our Sandburg Family Safe

Please do not drop your child off at school before 7:50am. Due to Covid protocols we cannot allow students to gather in the lobby. Parent drop off and pick up will be in our front parking lot. Please enter the lot and take a quick left - drop and pick up at the crosswalk.  Only buses may go straight in front of the building. Dismissal will begin with parent pick up at 2:40, followed by bus students, walkers will be dismissed last. If a line for the lot forms, please line up west of the lot along Sandburg Lane. See the attached map.

Face Mask Policy

Masks must be worn while at Sandburg Middle School at all times. Masks must be worn tightly over your mouth, nose and chin. You should wear a clean mask at least every 3 days.

There are only two times when it is ok to remove your mask.

  1. When a person is alone in a room.
  2. When you are eating or drinking at breakfast or lunch in your assigned seat.

Support Process for Masking

  1. When our staff, students and visitors need a mask, we have extra cloth and paper masks. Speak to a teacher or the office to get a mask.
  2. Is your mask uncomfortable or not fitting well? Check with a teacher or the office for a different mask and/or ear protectors.
  3. All staff and students are asked to use either a non-verbal cue, a visual tool or a verbal “Mask Please” as a cue to remind staff, students and visitors to wear or fix their masks.
  4. When a student, staff member or visitor refuses to wear a mask after reminders and problem solving support, Sandburg support staff and/or the Sandburg administration will be contacted and will provide support.

How To Find Hybrid Groups in Infinite Campus

Student hybrid groups are now visible in Infinite Campus.

To find your students hybrid group designation:

  • Go to myportal.rdale.org, login and then click on Infinite Campus
  • When you click on “Today”, you will see your student’s name and Blended Learning Group.
  • If you have multiple students, you will need to click on the drop down menu in the upper right corner to flip to their other student(s).
  • Note: Your student can also log into their portal account and see their group.
  • Hybrid Group A will be in the building on Mondays and Tuesdays,
  • Hybrid Group B will be in the building on Thursdays and Fridays
  • For Distance Learning students and hybrid students who are not in the building, they will have virtual learning where they join Google Meets at specified times as they have been doing in distance learning.

Transportation

A postcard will be mailed out to families with bus stop information. Transportation information is visible in Infinite Campus, too.
