Chromebook Device Protection Plan Reminder

Reminder: All families are encouraged to purchase a Device Protection Plan (DPP) for each of their students every fall. The plan covers accidental damage or loss of the Chromebook or iPad checked out to students. The cost of the plan is $25, or $5 for those students who qualify for Educational Benefits.  Payment for DPPs for this school year will be accepted until October 31, 2022.

Below are the costs for damaged and missing devices, with and without DPP. For more information please visit rdale.org/discover/technology 

Damage Deductible

  • First occurrence (per school year): with device protection plan - no cost; without device protection plan - $60.

  • Second occurrence (per school year): with device protection plan - $25 (each); without device protection plan - $60 (each).

  • Please note: intentional damage is not covered by the device protection plan. Full repair or replacement costs may be assessed to the student.
     

Theft or Loss Deductible

  • Theft with a police report (per occurrence school year): with device protection plan - $50 (each); without device protection plan - $100 (each).

  • Loss due to negligence (per occurrence per school year): with device protection plan - $100 (each); without device protection plan - $150 (each).

DPPs can be purchased through the Campus School Store. If a student qualifies for Educational Benefits, the price of the DPP will be automatically adjusted. Online applications for Educational Benefits are processed daily; please allow 10 business days to process paper applications prior to purchasing DPP. 

All families are encouraged to apply for Educational Benefits. The application for Educational Benefits (formerly known as Free and Reduced) can be completed at TITAN K-12 Family Portal.

  1. Visit TITAN K-12 Family Portal.

  2. Click on Apply for Meals Today (log in not required).

  3. Follow the instructions to complete your online application.

An eligibility notice letter will be sent out via USPS mail or email within 10 business days.
