Childcare Update

Childcare Update

Dear Adventure Club and Critical Care Families,

We shared the news yesterday that the District would remain in Distance Learning PLUS along with updates to our childcare programming. Thank you to those who shared feedback about these changes. We heard you and we understand why you may have had questions or concerns. Please know we are doing our best to support our students and families during this unprecedented year.

We also continue to pivot as needed in an effort to be responsive to our families. Today, we are writing to share additional information with you.

Childcare Sites
Students in school-day care will remain at their current site, FAIR School Crystal (3915 Adair Ave N, Crystal) or Sandburg Middle School (2400 Sandburg Lane, Golden Valley). Students will be grouped with their home school “pods” for the entire day.

Families who have previously registered for a distance learning childcare contract will transition to this care model and do not need to re-register. This care model will remain in place while we are in Distance Learning PLUS.

Before and After Care
Fee-based before and after care will continue to be available at the FAIR Crystal and Sandburg locations.

Fee-Based Care Will Be Available
Families who do not qualify under the Tier 1 critical care criteria (but had previously received childcare) will transition to fee-based services effective Nov. 16. This includes care being offered through Middle School Critical Care. Please note, this is an update to yesterday’s communication.

Families who do not wish to transition to fee-based services can withdraw their childcare contract by visiting rdale.ce.eleyo.com. Please request a schedule change to your current distance learning contracts by adding/removing days. Days on your contracts may have been removed due to the preparation of the model shift. For changes to their November schedule, no Schedule Change Fees will be assessed.

Tier 1 Critical Care Criteria
We will follow the Executive Order critical care requirement which states that in order to receive free critical care during school day hours, both parents/guardians or those who are a single custody parent/guardian must be a Tier 1 qualified worker (see MDE Tier I worker list).

Childcare will not be available on upcoming non-school days:

  • Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 25-27 (Thanksgiving break)
  • Monday, Dec. 21 through Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 (Winter break)

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. You are always welcome to contact us with any questions at adventure_club@rdale.org.

Sincerely,
