Welcome to Sandburg Middle School, a nurturing community where students learn to navigate a larger world and increase their independence. As they develop social and academic skills, they also become critical thinkers and citizens of the world.

Sandburg Middle School feels like a large extended family, with staff who encourage students to be who they really are as individuals – and to work with others as a community. We hold each other accountable, understanding that mistakes can be teachable moments.
Sandburg is dedicated to using restorative practices and valuing our students’ voices, emotions, and feelings.
MEETING THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS
In the important period between childhood and the teenage years, Sandburg Middle School offers a wide range of classes that help young people discover new interests. The format of the school day helps them develop self-reliance, perseverance, and habits that will serve them as they continue in school and after.
SANDBURG MIDDLE SCHOOL IS A FULL-SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
A full-service community school (FSCS) builds partnerships and organizes resources to help students and families thrive. Full-service community schools focus on academics, health, social services, youth development, and engagement – all to improve student learning and strengthen families.
Sandburg Middle School, a FSCS, is a resource center open to everyone, with extended evening and weekend hours.

YOUR K-12 PATHWAY
Students will attend either Armstrong or Cooper High School based on their home address.
