Sandburg’s Math Team Finishes in the Top Half of the MN Jr. High Math League Competition

Congratulations to Sandburg’s math team for finishing in the top half of the MN Jr. High Math League competition.

This Monday, January 8, 2018, Sandburg’s math team competed in the MN Jr. High Math League held at RMS. The team finished 11th among the 23 teams from nine schools. 

The top scorers for Sandburg were Haakon Hanson and Victor Luu with 12 points each.   Haakon’s 60 points for the season ranked him 15th among the 130 students competing.  The Sandburg team also finished 11th overall in cumulative score for the season.

Congratulations to Haakon and Victor, as well as Easton Bazyk, Manning O’Rourke, Christian Stevenson, and Michael Matara on a very successful first year!

The Sandburg math team is preparing for its next competition, MATHCOUNTS. If you are interested in joining the math team, now is a good time. Simply join us for practice this Tuesday, January 9, 2018 after school in room 6, or stop by the main office.
